When PerfectFit Harness decided to introduce a new product they asked us to create the logo, branding and marketing brochure. The modular design of their harnesses means they can adapt for all dog shapes and sizes. We’ve worked with PerfectFit Harness since 2013 and know how passionate they are as dog welfare champions.

We started off with a meeting with the marketing manager and director as we needed to get a clear understanding of the project. Having client insight is so important to us to achieve the right design to then meet clients expectations. With a gap in the dog market the PacoPouch had evolved as a pouch, a washable insert and training booklet for regular training sessions. The product concept is based on the science method of training to build your dog’s confidence and to reduce the risk of behavioural problems.

Creative training

We knew that a strong brand would help to establish it in the market place so we needed to design a unique identity. We designed three logos concepts, to give the client a visual how the product would to be branded before any manufacture costs. Combining the clients ideas with our creativity, helps to create the right visual identity to engage their customers. Designing a scalable logo made it easier for manufacture when applied to the exterior of the pouch. The brand colours and fonts are designed to be visible on the pouch, website, social media and on the printed training booklet.

Visuals to show how the final PacoPouch logo can be adapted so that its visible on different backgrounds.

Brand philosophy

Next, we applied the new branding to the training brochure which needed to fit into the PacoPouch. The client supplied rough drawings of the steps to explain how the three behaviour techniques should be illustrated. We created illustrations for each step so customers can easily follow each step for each positive reinforcement training technique. The key feature of the PacoPouch is the removable and washable insert, which after using moist training treats is ideal. Extending the new branding across all their marketing maintains a consistent brand.

Starting with a strong brand, has helped PerfectFit to launch their product with confidence to stay connected with their customers. This new product follows their ethos to promote dog training sessions with new techniques for any behavioural problems. Services provided by us for this project include; logo design, brochure design, custom illustrations and brochure design.

Positive reinforcement

It was all signed off in good time for the launch day. A month on and customer feedback has only been positive. Having the confidence in our design is so rewarding to see our clients flourish especially who are so passionate about their business. It goes without saying, we’ve also learnt how positive reinforcement helps a dogs behaviour!

Here’s what Steph the Marketing Manager had to say about how we fitted in with their team:

Jane has supported us from start to finish during our latest product launch, the PacoPouch. I presented Jane with some rough ideas and sketches and she came back promptly (as always) with a super design, in line with our brand, and reflecting our brand personality perfectly! Jane also brought fresh creative ideas to the table, which helped us to think outside of the box.

This is not the first time we have worked with ID Design, and it certainly won’t be the last!
