New product branding

That’s a wrap

PerfectFit Harness are always looking for new ideas to inspire customers on how to support and train their furry friends. As their new product, the Lick mat is now launched and I can unwrap how we helped them brand and design it from scratch.

Having launched the PacoPouch two years ago, their team had found a new product to add to the range. Their lick mat is based on the scientific method of training to improve a dog’s confidence and reduce behavioural problems, to enrich, reward and entertain. After completing market research the director and marketing manager invited me to discuss the new idea and create a plan and design - ready to launch!

Stressless

For stressless husbandry tasks, the lick mat aids dogs with simple mental enrichment for the dog to lick dog friendly food off the mat. Making it perfect to transform challenging tasks such as nail clipping or bath times into a positive experience by using the mat as a distraction or reward.

There are considerations when you launch a new product, so starting off with consumer research and a brief gives me the foundations to work from. You need to know what features your customers are looking for and where your product can solve any problems they have. Be clear how to tell your story for the product launch to create marketing that will resonate.

Positive treats

The final pack includes a silicone lick mat and spatula both matched to the PerfectFit grey. We explored packaging options so that the final product would fit within postage restrictions and least waste packaging. Discussing our creative ideas with clients always helps to refine the details before reaching the final design. Quantities and cost were also discussed to help towards viable options. This is important to fit the project in the budget and allow for any movement.

Recipe for success

Finally, the design of the printed Recipe and Ideas Guide combines supplied information from their marketing manager with our custom graphics. A concertina leaflet was chosen with branded diagrams to illustrate some simple recipes. The benefits of how and when to use the lick mat add more value to this pack. Existing branding runs across this packaging design to help connect their existing customers.
